Conditional Warranty Limits and Terms of Sale
JLM Metal Recycling's parts carry a 90-day guarantee, Used Tires carry a 30-day manufacturing warranty and our used batteries carry a 2-year warranty. We offer an extended 1-year parts and labour warranty for an additional fee (see below).
90 Day Warranty is limited to replacement, repair, or refund at the option of the seller with proof of purchase. Freight costs are non refundable. Body sections cut to order are non-returnable. There is no responsibility for improper installation or usage after time of purchase. Seller is not liable for, and purchaser waives all claims for consequential damages which result from the sale of the above parts including but not limited to labour charges to install or remove the parts, loss of income, wages or salary, or car rental charges. Buyer's sole remedy against seller shall be a return of the price on the front side of this invoice or an exchange of a replacement part if timely return to the seller. There are no warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose and no warranties which extend beyond the description on the face hereof. Warranty does not cover labour expenses for removal and/or replacement of a malfunctioning part. All used parts or merchandise must be inspected by buyer for defects and safety hazards.
Tires: Used tires carry a 30-day money back guarantee which protects the consumer from any defects during the manufacturing of the tire, i.e. Shifted belts & sidewall bulges. The warranty does not cover road hazards. It is the customers' responsibility to check the used tire for impacts, penetrations, cracks, knots, bulges and ripped beads before purchase. Tires must be installed and balanced by a reputable tire installer; proof may be required.
1 Year Extended Warranty is available for an additional fee. Parts will be replaced, repaired, or refunded at the option of the seller with proof of purchase. Freight costs are non refundable. Body sections cut to order are non-returnable. Labour is covered at $50.00 per hour according to the Mitchell book with proof of installation by a licensed mechanical shop. Towing is not included. JLM Metal Recycling has the right to inspect or re-inspect any job where they feel the need. Upon results of such said inspection JLM can relocate the vehicle to a service garage of their choice.
Aftermarket or Special-Order parts are subject to the warranty terms of that supplier. Aftermarket parts that are not needed must be returned within 7 days of purchase.
Engines are guaranteed to be in good operating condition with reasonable limits of specifications as stated by the seller: ie.oil pressure, compression, and oil consumption. They are drained of all fluids. Engines may require some electrical or mechanical changeover. Only the crankshaft, block, heads and valve train are covered under this guarantee. Accessories such as water pump, fuel pump, distributor, injectors and exhaust manifold are left on for customer convenience only and are not guaranteed. A radiator in good working order must also be installed. Please make sure there is sufficient fresh lubricant and coolant before starting the engine. Some electronics may need to be sent out to be re-flashed at the dealer at the installers expense for proper engine function i.e. radios and computers.
Standard Transmissions, Transfer Cases and Differentials are guaranteed functional assemblies. Gears are guaranteed at the time of purchase. Cracked or broken teeth after the sale are obvious abuse and will not be warranted. Some transmissions require a break in period. Please make sure there is sufficient fresh OEM specified lubricants before operating. All non-differential parts (rotors, drums, calipers, mount brackets, dust shields, wheel cylinders, proportioning valves) are not covered. Gaskets must be replaced at the installers expense.
Automatic Transmissions are guaranteed functional assemblies. They are drained of oil and filter (if applicable) is removed. It is recommended that the front and rear seals be replaced prior to installation. The pan gaskets, fluids and filter (if applicable) MUST be replaced prior to operation. Transmission cooler must be flushed hydraulically before installation. Please make sure there is sufficient fresh OEM specified lubricants before operating. Some computers may need to be sent out to be re-flashed at the dealer at the installers expense for proper transmission function. Gaskets must be replaced at the installers expense.
Returns: Non defective parts or parts ordered incorrectly must be returned within 7 days of purchase. These parts are subject to acceptance by dismantler and are subject to a 15% handling charge if accepted. Refunded parts must be in the same condition as when sold. Warranty is void if part has been disassembled or abused.
Obvious Abuse, intentional damage, improper installation, collision damage or operating the assembly when low on lubricant or coolant will void warranty.
Core Return Policy: The core is the worn part that you are replacing. It has value as a rebuildable part, and we require that you send that part to us when you replace it. To ensure that the worn part is returned to us, we charge a deposit fee on all parts that we send out. That fee is the core charge, and is refunded when we receive the old part back.
Used Air Bags: Sold as cores only. There is no warranty and no liability on used air bags. Non-Sufficient Funds: Returned cheques will have a non-sufficient (N.S.F) charge of $45.00
